Research in Comparative and International Education

in the Nordic Countries

Time and space define the context for education and the reliant sharing of knowledge and research, including theoretical and methodological approaches for comparative investigations. Yet, both the sharing of knowledge and research in comparative and international education is intrinsically linked to the socio-cultural and political environments within which educational phenomena occur, where people live and/or conduct research. In total, forty-two scientific societies, primarily organised around the geo-political location of their members, like the Nordic Comparative and International Education Society (NOCIES), or the language they share, represent the field of comparative and international education research today.

This pre-conference is organised by the Nordic Comparative and International Education Society (NOCIES) that will also hold its biannual General Meeting on 22 March 2017, in collaboration with the local organising committee of the 45th Congress of the Nordic Educational Research Association (NERA).
